A Long Time Coming (And a Special Offer Inside)

A Long Time Coming (And a Special Offer Inside)

This communication is a long time coming. For years I have wanted to share more, do more, write more, connect more with our community in the spirit of exploring together an approach towards improving our health and wellbeing.

A quick story. Just around the New Year, George, a long term patient came in for his regular treatment. George is a perfect example of what regular care and a dedicated approach to physical longevity can look like. George is robust, fit and strong at 70 years young and most importantly has the desire to remain active. He golfs regularly, runs the soft sand, lifts weights, even while traveling extensively around the world with his wife. As is often the case in our appointments, George and I began to talk about his goals for the New Year. I asked him what he might want to do to further improve his health and we had a tacit discussion that we would both “cut down” on sugar. George, however, took my simple question and gave me a challenge that truly gave me something to think about. “Hey Steve, let me ask, what are YOU going to do for your patients to help them improve their health and wellbeing this year.” At that moment, I did not have an answer, but realized it was an important question, and I told him I would get back to him with an answer.

This email, and the bi-weekly newsletters that will follow are the beginning of my answer to George, and to our entire LA Sports Performance Care community. For a long time I have wanted to create a space to share with you. A space not just about our injuries or treatments (although, as always we will forever learn and grow in this area) but to provide our community with the passion, energy and services to optimize health and wellbeing, living well and aging well together. During our time working with you, we have been asked about many topics  including Women’s Health, Men’s Health, sports performance and nutrition, just to name a few. Now with our current staff, and the experience of 25 years behind us, we can provide new approaches and treatment to address many of these fitness and wellness needs.

So this is the beginning of something new: a newsletter from us every couple of weeks: with stories, tips, ideas, habits, rituals, reflections as well as community spotlights, all with the intention of answering George’s question while evolving our understanding and approach to the fundamental opportunity of caring for you and your family.

In that spirit, and especially in these times of uncertainty I am reminding you that we are here, we are doing our best work ever and so we’d like to offer our community a great opportunity to energize your health and wellbeing with us.
